No, this isn’t new news - and Disney’s oppressive media reaches far beyond sexism (into blatant racism, classism, etc) - but I think it needs to be reblogged forever.

What Belle taught: Appearances and violence towards you don’t matter as long as he apologizes by isolating you from your friends and family and tells you he loves you.
What Beast taught: If you harm her and then give her extravagant gifts, she will stay.
